Alex Wilkins

Hi! My name is Alex Wilkins; I was born September 11, 1996. I grew up in the small town of Erwin, North Carolina, which is about 40 minutes from Fayetteville. I began my career in fire service as a junior firefighter with Erwin Fire and Rescue, Inc. Upon high school graduation, I obtained my EMT-B, and I started working with Harnett County EMS. An opportunity in September 2015 presented itself with being able to serve on Fort Bragg Fire and Emergency Services as a firefighter, where my career has been since. I recently completed my bachelor’s from Fayetteville State in Fire and Emergency Services Administration. My passion for peer support began with seeing how suicides have impacted Ft. Bragg and how we have lost members in our organization to suicide. In addition, I have also dealt with my own issues in the past and have dealt with suicidal thoughts related to various stressors. Having support from peers can truly help, and it can help bring those troubled out of dark times. Now,  I’d like to use what I have learned to help and support my fellow peers.
